Eleanor
A. Wagner is a certified public accountant and tax
manager with the Beaver office of Cottrill, Arbutina &
Associates.
In this
role, Ms. Wagner performs tax planning and preparation as
well as auditing services for businesses, not-for-profit
organizations and credit unions.
Among
her accomplishments have been obtaining tax exempt status
for a startup entity providing residential housing to moderate
income individuals. She has advised a high net worth client
who owned a business and wanted to transfer wealth to a
disabled adult child while allowing other adult children
to continue running the enterprise, thus avoiding heavy
estate taxes.
For
a client who ran 25 partnerships in the real estate, construction
and land development fields, she helped consolidate the
sprawling enterprise to streamline financial reporting and
as a means to help the client understand its monthly cash
flow and overall profit/loss performance. She has trained
client bookkeeping staff on how to use QuickBooks for multi-office
locations.
Ms.
Wagner joined the firm in 2008. Earlier in her career, she
was a principal with the CPA firm of S.R. Snodgrass, A.C.
She also has worked in the accounting field with firms in
Michigan and Ohio since 1983.
Ms.
Wagner holds a master's of taxation degree from Robert Morris
University (2006) and received her bachelor of science in
business administration degree in 1983, cum laude ,
from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Active
in the profession and community, Ms. Wagner holds a CPA
certification in Pennsylvania. She is a past treasurer of
the Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women, past president
of the Professional Women's Network and past treasurer of
Zonta International.
