Elizabeth
A. "Beth" Parisi is a staff accountant and auditor
with the Peters Township office of Cottrill, Arbutina
Professional Services. Her 15 years of experience
as a business owner, chief financial officer and internal
government auditor give her insights into the pressures
that impact the firm's clients on a daily basis.
Ms.
Parisi is a member of the firm's Audit Group which
provides audit and management consulting to a variety
of governmental, not-for-profit and financial institutions,
as well as privately held businesses. Clients include
a number of the top credit unions in the Pittsburgh
region as ranked by asset size in the Pittsburgh Business
Times, as well as more than two-thirds of the public
school districts in Beaver County.
Prior
to joining Cottrill, Arbutina, Ms. Parisi was owner
and CFO for Good Wood Grill, a Bridgeville fine dining
restaurant that employed a staff of 20. In this role,
she managed all operations, including inventory ordering
and cost control for food and beverages, managing
relationships with vendors, directing special events,
developing marketing materials, preparing monthly
financial statements as well as overseeing payroll
and tax returns.
From
1998 to 2001, Ms. Parisi was a senior tax accountant
with a large CPA firm based in Pittsburgh. Her responsibilities
included consultation with clients and applying tax
statues and regulations to their specific situations.
She also prepared income tax returns for tax exempt
organizations, S-corporations, partnerships and individuals.
Ms.
Parisi obtained valuable financial industry insights
in the mid-1990s as a fund tax accountant for Federated
Investors in Pittsburgh. Her duties ranged from preparing
tax returns for regulated investment companies and
corporate entities in Pennsylvania, Maryland and New
York. On a monthly basis, she performed diversification
tests to verify that mutual funds qualified as regulated
investment companies under the Internal Revenue Service
Code.
She
began her career as an auditor with the Allegheny
County Controller's Office, performing financial and
compliance audits and reviews of various county offices,
and examined and evaluated internal control structures.
Ms.
Parisi obtained her master's degree in taxation in
1996 from Robert Morris College. She received her
bachelor's degree in 1991 from Washington and Jefferson
College.
