Laura Wiest is a staff accountant with the Peters Township office of Cottrill, Arbutina Professional Services. She brings in-house treasury and Big Four accounting experience to her work on behalf of the firm's clients.

She is a member of the firm's Audit Group which provides audit and management consulting to a variety of governmental, not-for-profit and financial institutions, as well as privately held businesses.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Wiest was federal and state tax supervisor with Circuit City Stores, Inc., in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, she supervised a four-person department which filed federal, state and local income tax returns for four subsidiaries operating in 26 states. Additionally, she coordinated all income tax audits and audit preparation, administered the targeted jobs tax credit program, explained tax law changes to senior management, and established a parent company intangible subsidiary.

Demonstrating her abilities as a leader and communicator, Ms. Wiest was a business accounting, technology and mathematics instructor at Coastal Carolina Community College in Jacksonville, North Carolina, in the 1990s.

Ms. Wiest began her career as a staff auditor with the Big Four CPA firm of Price Waterhouse in Richmond. She was part of a team responsible for the financial audit of banks as well as service, manufacturing and law firms. She also helped design a database program to survey small businesses.

In addition to her work with Cottrill, Arbutina, Ms. Wiest serves as the treasurer of the Beaver Butler Presbytery, a regional governing body of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) consisting of 87 churches. Her responsibilities include overseeing the Presbytery's accounting function, coordinating the annual audit and re-organizing the organization's accounting system.

In 1986, Ms. Wiest received her bachelor of science in accounting degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). She passed the CPA exam in 1986 and holds a license in the state of Virginia. She is a member of the AICPA.

Ms. Wiest resides in Cranberry Township with her husband Greg and three children. She is an active volunteer with the Glade Run Presbyterian Church of Valencia, PA, where her husband serves as pastor.
