R. Arbutina is managing shareholder of Cottrill, Arbutina
& Associates, a Pittsburgh Business Times
"Top 20" public accounting firm. He also is managing member
of Cottrill, Arbutina Wealth Management Group, LLC. With
Big Four experience, he has spent two decades as a CPA and
business leader.
Under the guidance of
Mr. Arbutina and his colleague Dale Cottrill, the firm's
business has grown dramatically in the past decade, and
today serves more than 2,000 clients, with offices in three
locations. The firm has set double-digit growth records
in volume each of the past several years, including a high
profile acquisition of a tax and audit group from S.R. Snodgrass,
A.C. in Chippewa Township.
Mr.
Arbutina has been profiled in Kiplinger’s
for his financial planning acumen. He also has been named
in Pittsburgh Magazine as a Five Star Wealth Manager
and as one of the "best personal wealth managers in the
Pittsburgh area" based on an extensive survey of client
satisfaction. He holds a five-star designation in the Paladin
Registry, an information services company
providing free education, advisor information and matching
services on the web, and is included in the Guide
to America's Best Financial Planners, published
by the Consumers' Research Council of America.
In 2008,
the Beaver County Foundation presented Mr. Arbutina and
Mr. Cottrill with the Benjamin Franklin Entrepreneurship
Award honoring local companies that best capture Franklin's
pioneering and entrepreneurial spirit. The
Pittsburgh Business Times named the firm in 2008 as
one of the 100 fastest-growing privately held businesses
in the Pittsburgh region.
Mr.
Arbutina specializes in accounting, tax and business advisory
services for manufacturers, professional services, retail
and non-profits. He serves on a Marcellus Shale committee
for the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants
to help property owners understand the tax, estate, investment
and retirement planning ramifications of windfall revenues
they receive. In addition, he is a CERTIFIED
FINANCIAL PLANNERT
practitioner, and has helped build Cottrill, Arbutina Wealth
Management Group into a comprehensive financial service
practice. He is a registered representative with, and offers
securities through, LPL
Financial, Member FINRA
/ SIPC. LPL is an
independent financial services firm which offers the actual
securities and advisory services once clients have made
decisions about their accounts.
Earlier
in his career, he was a manager with Arthur Andersen &
Co. in Pittsburgh. While there, he provided both audit and
tax services to a diverse client base including publicly
and privately-held domestic and international companies.
He was a member of the compensation and benefits, healthcare
and tax-exempt service teams in Pittsburgh and was the tax
practice liaison for all employee benefit plan, healthcare
and not-for-profit audit clients.
Mr.
Arbutina is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes
of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Certified
Financial Planners. He is a former board director of Big
Brothers Big Sisters of Beaver County and as chair of its
annual auction has helped raise $100,000 over the past several
years. Previously, he served in leadership roles with the
Beaver County Red Cross and the Rotary Club of Beaver. He
holds a bachelor's degree from Gettysburg College and an
MBA from the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School
of Business.
